Abstract

A device for displaying fluctuations from a desired value of the speed of a boat, particularly small fluctuations which are difficult to read-off with known devices. The device has a store 3 for storing an electrical signal representing the desired speed; a comparator 2 for comparing the stored desired speed with the actual speed of the boat; and an instrument 1 connected to the output of the comparator which displays any fluctuation from the desired speed. The store may be a capacitor or, as shown, a counter 3 fed by a frequency generator 5 controlled by a bistable circuit 6. <IMAGE>
