Abstract

The invention relates to the technical field of these lamps and is directed to the improvement of the design of such lamps. The safety of the lamp is improved by there being a first housing for the burner 20 and a second housing 27 containing control circuitry 17a, 17b for the burner 20. The two housings are separate from one another and assembled together. Cooling is improved by at least one wall portion of the first housing being made from strips 25a, 25b, having angled or curved cross-sectional shapes, which overlap one another providing ventilation spaces 22a, 22b between them. <IMAGE>
