Abstract

In a storage installation for storing self-carrier pallets (14) comprising shelves, of which the storing surfaces of the pallets (14) are formed by support brackets (22, 22'...), the loading, respectively the unloading, of the pallets (14) being carried out with a lifting device which comprises means for the loading and unloading of the pallets. To increase the storage capacity of such an installation, the loading, respectively unloading device for the pallets (14) is comprised of movable carriages moving in shelves provided with tracks (22, 23'...) by means of chain driving devices (222, 223) mounted on top of the brackets (22, 22'...) for the setting of the pallets (14). The pallets (14) which are provided with cantilever supports (141) are arranged on the upper face of the lowerable supports (215) of the carriages.
