Abstract

208,703. Nederlandsche Gist - en Spiritusfabriek. Dec. 20, 1922, [Convenvention date]. Electrically-actuated valves. - A cylindrical valve member sliding within a tubular conduit is actuated by an electromagnet or solenoid outside the conduit, so that it closes the magnetic circuit in one of its end positions. The valve member 1, Fig. 1, has a conical end 3 engaging with a seating 6, the whole being arranged within a tubular conduit 2. The valve 1 forms the core of a coil 4 which is enclosed in a casing 5 of magnetic material. Conduits 8 for the fluid are formed in the valve member, or they may be in the form of grooves in the surface of the valve member, or in the tube 2. The valve may be moved into its open position by a spring, or by gravity, or by another electromagnet. In another form, Fig. 7, the valve body 1 is provided with a closure portion 3 at both ends, engaging with seatings 9, and the inlet is formed laterally at 13, so that a three-way valve is obtained.
