Abstract
An abrasive cover, for wearing on the hand during manual operations of sandpapering and the like, has a flexible enclosure to receive all or part of the hand, and abrasive material such as emery or sand paper on the exterior of the enclosure. The abrasive may be in relatively large areas, e.g. over the whole of the hand, on one or both sides, or only over the palm and fngers, and the areas may consist of island sites of abrasive material to retain flexibility. A preferred form is a mitten which is made reversible for wearing on either hand. In another form, the enclosure is of the nature of a finger-stall which may have strips of abrasive material on one or two opposed surfaces, and which may be rotatable about the finger for presenting a fresh abrasive surface. The abrasive and its support are advantageously of wet-and-dry nature. Convenient materials for the enclosure are paper, sheet plastics, and sheet fabric.
Description
SPECIFICATION
Abra-glove, Abra-mitt, Abra-tips or any saleable title to be considered
Abra-Glove... glove covering whole hand, individual fingers with or without thumb. Base of glove to be in any suitable pliable material, covered or partially covered in plain or patterened portions of abrasive material to enable pliability. Abrasive to be likened to emery paper, wet and dry or sand paper etc., or any improved abrasive material to be patented. The glove, mitt or tips to be dual purpose, i.e. double sided (back and front) so that the same can be first used on one side and then the other.
Sizes and colours to be considered as well as existing abrasive colours as purchaseable sheets and abrasive pads.
Abra-Mitt... meaning mitt covering whole hand and fingers in one unit, with or without thumb with similar descriptive materials as Abra-Glove.
Abra-Tips . . . Finger stalls or finger fittings, covering any one finger, manufactured in strip form or individual pad-like fittings. Similar description as for
Abra-Glove, but being able to be rotated around finger for maximum use of abrasive.
Materials
Abrasive, likened to emery paper, wet and dry or sand paper etc., used as a coating or bonded to any suitable pliable backing, being paper, plastics, cottons or any other such suitable materials etc., in such a shape to cover whole hand, palm, fingers or any part of hand which ever is applicable to aforementioned titles and design to take into account possible rotation, reversible or dual sided, which ever is suitable.
The products have been designed especially with the use for women in mind or any person with sensitive hands to help eliminate broken finger nails and abrasions to hands and to facilitate versatility in the use on modern and awkward designs, i.e. rubbing down Georgian windows, etc.
Carving, modelling, plumbing
The finished product to be made for use on wood, stones, metals man-made and all other materials,
e.g. all forms of plastics, etc.
The aforementioned is an idea in principle, possible to be made more explicit at a later date, if at all saleable.
THUMB AND FINGER AND PALM ABRASIVE (Title not stated) on any cheaply manufactured glove type base, similar to basic design and description with one to four fingers, thumb or thumbless, cost to be decisive factor.
Finger pads could be manufactured on a perforated paper backing, possibly.
Submitted drawings not to scale and at this time only to show basic idea.
Also, plastic glove shape, cheaply manufactured, enclosed, to show possible basic idea.
