Abstract
207,470. Vickery, G., and Vickery, W. April 12, 1923. Catches, automatic; stud-and-slot fastenings; seal fastenings.-A seal fastening for boxes, &c., comprises a pivoted spring-actuated catch 7 adapted to engage a staple 9 and provided with cam surfaces 17 with which cam surfaces 18 on a spindle 13 co-operate to withdraw the catch, the spindle 13 being carried at one end in the rear wall of the catch casing and passing through a hole 16 in the catch and through the front wall of the casing. A seal carried in the casing must be mutilated before the ring 15 can be operated. The catch casing, formed from a rectangular metal plate by cutting and pressing operations, has three of its sides folded over at 1, 2, 3, 4 to form a seal holder, and is formed with a rearwardly extending recess 5 in which the catch 7 is mounted. A lip 12 on the staple carrying plate 10 co-operates with the sides 1, 4 to form a closure to the seal holder.
