Abstract

A sludge producing apparatus in which a sludge conveying and dehydrating screw conveyor (10) is obliquely provided on a sludge tank (9), which stores a sludge slurry from a sludge spray unit (1), in such a manner that the front end of the conveyor (10) is immersed into the tank (9) and extended to the bottom thereof and the rear end is projected from the water surface of the tank (9). The sludge slurry which settles and concentrates at the bottom of the tank (9) is dehydrated while being conveyed from the bottom of the tank (9) toward the outside of the tank. This apparatus permits the simultaneous transport and dehydration of the slurry so that the sludge slurry can be dehydrated continuously and efficiently.
