Abstract

A bobbin (18) for receiving roving has an internal shoulder enabling it to seat on a surface (22) provided at the upper-end of a spindle (10). The bobbin hangs from this shoulder and the bobbin foot is received in a resilient clamp device (36) provided on the spindle for clamping a roving end against the bobbin.
