Abstract

A container intended primarily for pressurised fluids has its internal space divided by a diaphragm 20 into two compartments 22 and 24. The fluid is to be contained within the larger compartment 22. The smaller compartment has a pin 26 extending towards the diaphragm. If the pressure in the compartment 22 exceeds a certain level, the diaphragm deflects downwards and is pierced by the pin 26, so that the two compartments communicate and the total pressure inside the container is reduced. <IMAGE>
