Abstract

204,161. Cox, H. July 15, 1922. Picking-up tools.-A device for lifting hot basins, plates, &c., is constructed with three or more arms a to engage the rim of the basin, the arms being pivoted to a cross-head c on a central sleeve h or other guide for a central flange d provided with a perforated disc e for expanding and contracting the arms a. To facilitate operation, loops f, g are formed on the plunger d, and on two rods h connecting the cross-head c to a sleeve k on the guide j. The arms a are operated by passing two fingers through the loops g, and the thumb through loop f. The arms are formed with wedge-shaped fingers b for engagement under the rims, and to enable ready insertion between the basin and wall of the pan.
