Abstract

18,201. Constantine, E. G., and Napier, R. R. Dec. 31. Angular bending; corrugating; expanding and stretching.-Pipes are flanged or socketed by idle rolls while rotated about an horizontal axis. Rolls 12, 16 acting inside and outside the pipe are carried by brackets 3, 4 moved vertically by hydraulic cylinders 7, 10. In flanging, a third roll 15, carried by a bracket 5 pivoted to the bracket 3, is moved into the position shown in broken lines, by an hydraulic cylinder 9.
