Abstract

2908. Hall, W., and Illius, D. W. Feb. 4. L u b r i c a n t conveyed by mechanical means. -In a lubricator for internal-combustion engines of the kind described i n Specification 19,614/10, in which a rotating disk picks up oil from a reservoir and delivers it to the crank casing, the disk a is mounted on a countershaft b, and is rotated by a pinion c on the crank - shaft. The oil is thrown into pockets d, and is conveyed through a pipe e to a tray f. In modifications, the disk is attached to the side of a toothed wheel a, and an intermediate gear-wheel or a driving-chain connects the wheels a, c. The intermediate wheel, although not dipping into the oil, may itself collect oil from the wheel a and deliver it to the pockets d. The pinion c drives also the cam shaft g.
