[Cognate Application, 21,831/11.] Clip and like brackets; curtain rods. - Relates to means for attaching curtain and like rods to their carrier brackets, and consists in t h e provision on one element of inwardly-curled or hook-like guides engaging by a sliding movement with collars, shoulders, or other parts on the other element, a stop being provided on the bracket portion. Fig. 6 shows in sectional plan one form in which the attachment portion 1 carries a plate 4 bent to form hooked guides 5, and pivoted on a pin 3. The rod is slotted at 7 to engage with said guides. The lower portion 9, Fig. 5, of the plate 4 is turned under to support the rod, and the plate is then rotated about the pin 3 through a right-angle, the rod being then fixed by the guides 5, the part 9, and a stop 16 on the bracket. Fig. 10 shows another modification having guide parts 5 engaging slots 7 in the rod, which is secured between projections 21 on the bracket and a pivoted portion 18 which closes down upon it. In a further form, Fig. 17, the edges of a plate 23 are turned over, as at 5, to receive a collar on the end of the rod. An alternative form of mounting 1, 2 may be employed. The hook-like parts may be formed on the rod to engage suitable parts of the bracket element. Specification 17,058/09 is referred to.
