Abstract

4601. Williams, D. Feb. 24. [Addition to 7778/09.] Hooks, safety.-A suspension hook of the kind described in the parent Specification is provided with a stop E on the shackle C, engaging a recess H in the hook. The slot B in the hook is prolonged b e l o w the clearance space K, so that the hook is still locked when the pin falls to the lower end of the slot and the stop E engages the recess H. To open the hook, the shackle C is lifted until the stop just clears the recess H; the pin D then occupies the clearance space K, and can be rotated.
