Abstract
18,977. Morris, F. Aug. 18. Mandrels; work-holders.-In an expanding mandrel for use in gripping hose-couplings &c., the dogs B are operated by a slidable cone C traversed by a screwed spindle d. The spindle is mounted against longitudinal motion in a casing A, and the cone is prevented from rotating by a projection c from the casing. The casing A has a barrel portion a<1>, square in section or provided with flats, whereby the mandrel may be held in a vice.
