Abstract

18,481. Daniels, T. H. Aug. 11. Rotary washing and like. - A rotary - drum machine for dyeing raw or loose wool, cotton, &c. is constructed with a perforated tubular structure fitted longitudinally at or near the centre of one or more of the compartments. These structures B have the loose wool &c. packed around them and prevent its movement, whilo at the same time acting as reservoirs for the dye liquor; when the corresponding compartments a of the drum A emerge from the main body thereof, from which the liquor is slowly discharged back through the wool &c. The structure B is preferably removable, and is held in position by a hinged clamp b.
