Abstract

Self-driving motors.-A dynamo and a motor or motors mounted on the same shaft are connected together in a closed electric circuit, the shaft being driven at starting by an auxiliary electric motor. The dynamo or preferably another indepndent dynamo worked from a motor driven by the firstmentioned dynamo or mechanically connected to the shaft of the latter, serves to charge batteries, which may supply current to the auxiliary motor to re-start the plant. A fly-wheel is mounted upon the shaft. The batteries may be fed continuously from the dynamo, and more than one dynamo may be employed.
