Abstract

3800. Stainforth, M. Feb. 19. Composition fuel.-A smoky fuel for the protection of fruit and vegetable crops consists of an absorbent, such as wood shavings, saw-dust, or peat moss, mixed with crude oil and asphalt or bitumen, with or without lime, and briquetted or not. The process may be conducted with or without heating. A suitable mixture contains asphalt 25 parts, crude oil 100 parts, and wood shavings 75 parts, by weight. Specification No. 3799, A.D. 1908, [Abridgment Class Stoves &c.], describes a stove in which the fuel may be burnt.
