Abstract

21,282. Moran, F. J. Oct. 19. Tyres, pneumatic.-A strip of canvas to which are attached hard scales in two or more layers arranged to break joint is placed between the inner tube and outer cover to act as a puncture-preventer. The scales or disks, Fig. 3, have rounded edges, are made of metal, celluloid, or horn, and are preferably formed with two holes for attachment by sewing, although rivets and clips may be used. The strip is secured at the sides with solution and placed with the scales facing the outer cover, a second strip of cloth or rubber being interposed and placed next to the inner tube.
