Abstract

198,185. Rousseau, J. April 29, 1922. Pile fabrics.-Carpets are made by attaching loops e of yarn to a canvas backing by means of toothed metal strips c. In the arrangement shown in Figs. 2 and 3, the yarn b is first arranged as warp threads above the backing a, the ends are fastened by a metal strip, and, in succession, loops are raised, by inserting a board f transversely under all the threads, and are fastened by metal strips. In a modification, Fig. 4, yarn is wound on a board f and metal strip c together, and a number of these separate windings are then attached to the backing a, and the boards f are removed.
