Feeding - appliances for animals.-Feeders for poultry &c., of the kind having a hopper f with a spring- controlled slide guided outlet device, have the guides formed as rods h, i, moving in brackets or arms k, l, on the outside of the hopper. A bait or lure consisting of grain &c. a, which may be covered with a guard, is attached to a rod c carrying a member e that closes the outlet of a hopper f and is attached to rods h, i, sliding in bent brackets k, l. Springs m, n are arranged between the bracket arm and adjustable stops o on the rods h, i. The member e may act as a spreader or a separate epreader may be attached to the rod c. The rod' c may extend into the hopper to carry agitators.
