196,249. Wheeler Manufacturing Co., C. H., (Assignees of Suczek, R.). April 17, 1922, [Convention date]. Void [Published under Sect. 91 of the Act]. Aspirating apparatus, ejector.-An ejector acting as an air-pump for a steam condenser delivers into an auxiliary condenser wherein the inducing steam is condensed, the air issuing into the atmosphere through a check or non-return valve. The ejector E draws from beneath the baffle b of the surface condenser C, and delivers to a surface condenser K, wherein condensate, removed from the hot-well H of the main condenser by the turbine-driven condensate pump P, acts as cooling-water, and subsequently functions similarly in a jet condenser F that deals with the mixed fluids delivered by a second-stage ejector E<1> drawing from the first auxiliary condenser. Condensate from the first auxiliary condenser passes by the float valve n, m to the main condenser hot-well, and the outlet to the atmosphere from the second auxiliary condenser is 'by a passage o provided with a spring valve p, q, there being a hand valve s on the actual outlet r. Water from the second auxiliary condenser passes to apparatus such as economizers or feed-waterheaters before utilization as boiler feed water. The outlet valve q, p admits of the pressure in the jet condenser being above that of the atmosphere, and the water therein may have a higher boiling-point accordingly.
