Abstract
194,123. Fletcher, J. A. Feb. 25, 1922. Exercising apparatus.-In mechanical camels &c. having a saddle for the support of a passenger and a rod passing through a ball-and-socket joint to actuate the saddle, means are provided to raise and lower the rod in addition to imparting a rotary movement to the end of it. The saddle a is supported by a rod b passing through a ball-andsocket joint c, d, the lower end of the rod b being pivotallv connected to the crank-arm f, which is adjustably held in the eye-piece g by the locking pin q. The eye-piece. g, and with it the rod b, is raised and lowered by the screw and nut device k, m which is operated by the chain and sprocket gearing s, t from the wheel r. The crank-arm f is rotated by the motor i through worm gearing j, and the motor is controlled by the device u. Steadying handles v are provided for the passenger.
