Abstract

180,903. Bezant, B. P. June 2, 1921. Closure members.-In a valve of the screwactuated hollow-piston type with the piston A having two diametrically opposite longitudinal slots B for the greater part of its length, the fluid to be controlled enters the piston from the bottom of the casing, exerts pressure inside it, and causes it to fit tightly. A pin D in one of the slots prevents rotation. A plug F is provided for the removal of deposit scraped from the seating.
