8234. Dalby, J. P. April 19. Ball mills, fixing manhole covers for. Relates to locking bolts and nuts for manhole covers for ball mills &c. The two bolts A passing through the bridge-piece G and bearing against the cover F are locked by a wire or pin E passing through holes D in the bolt heads. Nuts, made longer than usual so as to project beyond the bolt, may be locked in a similar way. The pins E may be expansible by taking them in halves, sliding or telescoping together against a spring. The bolt heads are preferably bored longitudinally before the lateral holes are bored, to prevent the risk of breaking the drills.
