Abstract

13,826. Rauber, A. June 21. Ovens.-Fig. 1 shows a section of one arrangement for distributing the heat. The crown of the furnace b is recessed at b<1>, b<2> in order to retain the hot gases. The oven chamber has an inclined baking-plate h fitted within a casing g. The top of the casing is inclined towards the front, and a plate g<1> is arranged below the baking-plate to deflect the heat forward. Around the casing g is a jacket i, also inclined towards the front, and the flues a' from the fire to the chimney are highest near the charging-door e. A zig-zag plate k may be fitted, as shown, to aid in retaining heat. In a modified construction, the plate h is mounted on rollers, so that it may be run out of the oven chamber. The plate h may be perforated at h<1> for the passage of hot gases.
