Abstract
18,826. Schulte, C. Sept. 2. Lacing-fastenings; hooks and eyes.-Relates to a holder for the laces of shoes, gaiters, &c., which is made as a hook or as an eye. A piece of round iron is bent to form a loop a and legs b, the ends of which are sharpened. To form an eye, the legs b are bent up and passed through the material as shown in Fig. 4. To form a hook, the loop a is bent in one direction and the legs b in the other, as shown in Figs. 3 and 5. The legs are clinched, after being passed through the material, in parallel lines as shown, or so as to cross one another.
