Abstract

17,327. Spence, H. K., and British Acetylene Gas Generator Co. Aug. 11. Acetylene Lamps for cycles, railway carriages, and other purposes. Water from the chamber C is fed by a wick D' to the perforated bottom d of the carbide chamber D, and the latter is raised out of contact with the wick by a rod E to stop the generation of gas. The gas escapes through perforations d<1> to the burner tube F, and an annulus a is provided to retain the water away from the wick in the event of the lamp being upset.
