Abstract

8800. Bystrom, J. April 6. Calliper gauges.- The legs are each built up of three thin metal plates riveted together and so cut away that the middle plate of one passes between the outer plates of the other where necessary, as for example at the hinge. Fig. 1 shows an outside calliper, the outer plate of the left leg being broken away to show the construction. T h e s l o t t e d locking- projection B passes into a cutaway portion in the central plate of the right leg, and is secured by a screw B<1>. A fine adjustment point c' is carried by a lever D pivoted at c and controlled by a spring C and screw E. The bent end c<2> works over a graduated projection d<1>.
