Abstract

189,436. Michel, H. Nov. 19, 1921, [Convention date]. Cam mechanism. - In cam driving gear the rollers 9 which follow the cam tracks 3 are carried on short axles 12 mounted in ball bearings on crossheads 8 fixed on the piston rods. The ball bearings are held in recesses in the crossheads, the outer rings 17 being relatively thin in view of their width so as to be flexible. The rollers may be fixed on the axles, or they may turn thereon; or as shown in Fig. 6 they may both turn and slide on the axle flanges 25, keeping the rollers in place. The axles are hollow and have closing nuts 28 formed with oil scoops 29 for collecting lubricant and diverting it to the rollers. The two fly wheels 4 are joined by a casing 4<1> to form a lubricant reservoir.
