Abstract

Folding boxes; fittings, internal.-A collapsable box for holding an electric lamp bulb has a recessed bottom d, Fig. 3, and an apertured V- shaped top b formed with stiffeners s and adapted to fit around the bulb socket, the bulb being inserted or withdrawn through one of the open sides of the box after turning back the flap g formed with a tuck-in piece h. The box is formed by pasting together the flaps e, f of the blank shown in Fig. 1, and when empty folds flat. A gas-mantle box, similarly formed from the blank shown assembled and collapsed in Fig. 7, is shown in Fig. 8. The top t only is recessed and cut out for the reception of a mantle-supporting fork 8, Fig. 9. A pasted flap 12 connects the parts of the blank, and the folding parts 2, y are disposed as in the other construction, but the bottom has a stiffening tongue x, and a hinged flap 5 with a tuck-in piece is attached to the rear edge of the recessed top to form a cover. In a further modification the flap 5 is formed as an extension of the bottom and the top has a short stiffening piece. Specification 22956/14 is referred to.
