Abstract

188,816. Brintons, Ltd., and Osborne, C. Aug. 26, 1921. Stop-motions, weft.-In carpet-weaving looms, the vertical arm 3 of a lever has a wide hooked end portion engaging the weft yarn between the weft trap and the needle, whereby the horizontal arm 2 of the lever is normally held raised, while, when the weft fails this arm falls and gives an indication to the operator. The arm may carry a heavy vertical member 6, which moves into the gap between two slidable bars 8, 9, the bar 8 being constantly reciprocated. The bar 9 is thus actuated and operates a clutch &c. for stopping the loom.
