Abstract

186,231. Davies, J., and Miles, W. H. Aug. 24, 1921. Water paints.-A preparation to be applied to metallic surfaces before magnesium oxychloride cements are applied thereto consists of calcium fluoride, calcium carbonate, and a solution of sodium or potassium silicate, with or without powdered clay such as pipe-clay or china clay. Suitable proportions are calcium carbonate, calcium fluoride, and clay, 10 lbs. each, and sodium silicate solution of 33‹ Be, 18 lbs. According to the Provisional Specification the clay is replaced by calcined magnesite.
