Abstract
170,937. Sambrook, S.. July 30, 1920. Ball and float valves. -In ball float valves, means are provided between the float and the lever arm for adjusting the angular position of the float relatively to the arm, both vertically and horizontally. A segmental fitting a, which may be of aluminium, is screwed to the end of the lever arm c. A slide d having a stem f screwing into a projection on the float is constructed with a recess e, Fig. 4, and fixing-screw h so that it may be secured to the fitting a in any position. In the form shown in Fig. 5, the fitting a is provided with teeth which co-operate with a worm i carried by the fitting d. In a modification, Fig. 6, the part a is circular in cross-section so that the slide d may be adjusted both horizontally and vertically. The Provisional Specification describes also a modification in which a straight guide co-operates with a screwed spindle, and another modification in which the float is hinged to the lever arm and provided with a locking-nut.
