Abstract

170,596. L¾fgren, A. O. M. Oct. 23, 1920, [Convention date]. Sparking-plugs.-The central electrode is enclosed within a two-part tube 2, 3, the outer part of which is of larger diameter than the inner part, so as to provide space for a spring 9 which retains the valve 8 on the electrode against its seating in the tube 3. The outer extremity of the central conductor is furnished with an insulating cap 11 by means of which the electrode may be moved axially and rotated so as to rub the terminals 13, 14 against each other. The terminal 13 is cup-shaped, its rim being eccentric to the axis of the plug. The transverse terminal 14 has a sharpened upper edge. In order that cleaning or starting fluid may be introduced, the bore of the tube 2 is enlarged at its outer end to form a cup, and has a spring-retained cover 19.
