179,819. Teague, J. May 7, 1921. Chimney and ventilating-shaft tops.-In a chimney and ventilating-shaft top of the type wherein an upper wind-driven drum fitted with vanes drives a propeller mounted lower down on the same spindle, the drum G is arranged above the rim of the chimney pot, and a free space extends above it to the covering dome M. The device comprises a skeleton structure A formed of strip or bar metal, which is secured in position by clips K and spring plates L. A cross member C carries the spindle E, which runs in ball bearings D, H. A screw propeller I, the vanes of which are out of alignment with those of the propeller F, is mounted on the spindle within the drum G, slots N in which serve for the passage of air to it. The lower ends B of the framework are flared as shown to prevent damage by a sweep's brush, a loose ring P being provided to limit their outward movement.
