Abstract

178,986. Ward, J. A. Feb. 11, 1921. Rotary cylinder apparatus, internally illuminated.-A device for producing the illusion of a silently gyrating sphere comprises a semitransparent globe a containing a lamp b bearing a pivot e which supports at f a rotating cylinder d. The cylinder d is preferably of mica, coloured or perforated, and is turned by the hot air rising from the lamp, openings n, o being provided for ventilation. The globe is mounted on an hexagonal casing, which is internally illuminated and is provided with frosted glass panes k bearing advertisements. Specification 162,924 is referred to.
