Cooking - stoves; d o o r s ; boilers, arrangement of.-In a combination open fire-place and range the gases pass successively through a boiler flue, beneath a hot-plate substantially at the level of the boiler flue, and through the oven flues; the oven being above the hot-plate so as to provide a recess or hot-chamber between the two. The range shown comprises an open fire-place A in which is an L-shaped boiler having a back limb e and a forwardly-extending limb e<1>, beneath which the gases pass through a flue f to the flue h beneath the hot-plate k; they subsequently pass up the flue m to the flues m<1>, m<2> below and above the oven n, and thence through an exit o to the chimney. A baffle m<3> regulates the distribution of the gases to the flues m', m<2>. The exit o may consist of a series of openings with " hit-and-miss " valve, but preferably the gases are controlled by a hinged damper p between the flues f, h. The boiler preferably has fins e<2> cast on it, which may support the fire-brick back c. A shutter s may be provided which closes the front of the space above the hot-plate k to form a second oven; and when not in use is turned into anhorizontal position and slid beneath the roof of the recess. A tiled recess may be arranged abovethe top over flues for heating plates &c., and a hot-plate and oven may be provided on each side fire-place, the boiler then having a a forwardly-extending limb on each side...
