Abstract
177,842. Smith, H. E. Dec. 3, 1920. Moving - chamber apparatus. - In an apparatus for feeding and discharging granular materials of the kind comprising a rotary disc 1 enclosed in a casing 5 having apertures 3 therethrough, which can be brought in turn into register with a feed opening 10 to the casing and a discharge opening, the disc is toothed peripherally, is driven by a pinion 6 or gear wheel enclosed in the casing, and its lower face works in contact with a false bottom 9 which can be adjusted to take up wear. By using two feeding devices, different materials may be supplied and mixed in desired proportions, and the capacity of the apertures 3 can be varied by inserting liners.
