Abstract
177,796. Odier, A. I. March 31, 1921, [Convention date]. Void [Published under Sect. 91 of the Act]. Slide-rules of the flat-spiral kind graduated for use in connection with monetary exchange,. wages or costs, comprises discs 1, 2, bearing on the outer faces spirals logarithmically graduated with double scales of, say francs and centimes. and pounds, shillings and pence, and mounted to turn relatively to each other in a clamp 5, having index pointers 6, 7. On the inner face,. the disc 1 has a circular logarithmic scale of rates of exchange, visible through an opening 4 in the disc 2 with markings on the rim, so that the discs may be set according to the current rate. The two spiral scales may be placed on opposite faces of a single disc, two centrally-pivoted pointers being provided to co-operate with them. Microscopes may be mounted on the instrument to increase reading accuracy.
