177,626. Rawsthorne, J. T. Jan. 12, 1921. Addition to 119,503. Rollers.-An engraved metal printing roller or cylinder for calico and other printing machines is constructed with a sleeve or ring of strips C of rubber interposed between the shell B and the mandrel A to form a buffer. The sleeve is preferably vulcanized to the mandrel, which with a keyway prevents creeping. The mandrel may taper slightly from one end to the other or from the centre to both ends. A number of rings, with or without distance-guides or longitudinal strips applied to grooves in the mandrel,. may be used instead of the continuous sleeve.
