Abstract

Unstable or hygroscopic compounds or mixtures, such as oxidizing and reducing agents, particularly sodium hyposulphite and sodium perborate and other per-salts, are rendered stable by spraying on to the powdered material while in motion a liquid protective material such as water-glass solution preferably while cooling and drying. The product is in granular form. Preferably, the process is effected by spraying the liquid into the upper part of a tower, introducing the pulverized chemical, for instance by suction or compressed air into the spray and directing an air current so as to meet the moistened particles in their descent to effect the drying. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specifications 5490/08, 26384/08 and 18330/11, [both in Class 86, Mixing &c.].
