Abstract
163,560. Danks, R. B. March 30, 1920. No Patent granted (Sealing fee not paid). Self-driving machines.-A weighty roller 28 arranged on one side of the vertical axis of the rotor 16 exerts pressure on plates 7 pivoted at 9 to the rotor, which pressure is transmitted by rods 10 and sheaves 14 to the shaft 1, thereby rotating it. The shaft 1 is arranged to rotate the rotor 6 in the opposite direction through switch gearing, thereby bringing the plates 7 successively into position to be operated upon by the pressure roller 7. Fig. 3 shows a rotor having twelve plates 7 arranged in four groups of three each.
