Abstract

162,888. Smith, M. March 24, 1920. Pedestal stands; rack stands.-A stand for displaying millinery &c. comprises a base portion formed of two cross arms mortised into each other at mid-length and formed at the point of intersection with a socket to receive an upright. The base comprises the two arms A, B slotted as shown in Fig. 1, and forming a socket for the upright F which carries a small block I and anarm J. In the modification shown in Fig. 3, the arms A, B are lengthened and provided at their ends with similar mortised cross-pieces G. In a further modification, the base comprises one long piece with several cross-pieces spaced thereon. If the uprights F, H are made equal in height, it may be used to support a table top for supporting jewellery &c.
