Abstract

161,296. Bradbury H. Jan. 9, 1920. Rolling.-In rolling round bars, the billet is fed to the rolls between adjustable guides d, d<1>, and is supported by a block g formed with a stem h entering a recess in a flange f on the guide-box e. The guide d<1> is adjustable by screws m and is secured by screws b<1>, while the guide d is formed with a projection d<2>, secured by screws b in a recess in a carrier i, which is operated by a cam j, on a spindle k, turned by a handle s. The guide box is formed with a dovetail flange p, which is secured in a groove in a support in front of the mill, so that boxes of different sizes can be readily interchanged.
