Abstract
169,932. Belasco, A. L. J. Jan. 31, 1921. Hearing-appliances.- A device for enabling deaf persons to hear comprises a cylinder A for receiving the speech, made preferably of aluminium, fitted with a mica or parchment diaphragm B and connected by a rod or cord C for conducting the vibrations to a member D to be inserted preferably in the mouth of the deaf person, and held by a handle E, the cord C being stretched taut. Vibrations are thus set up in the teeth and transmitted to the hearing- organs of the deaf person. The member D may be held in any other desired contact with the head of the deaf person, excepting with the outer ear cavity.
