Abstract

168,650. Petersen, H. M. June 2, 1920. Speed maintaining systems. - Relates to electrically synchronizing apparatus, particularly the transmitter and receiver of a copying telegraph, one piece of apparatus being driven by alternating current which also influences a vacuum tube in proximity to the other apparatus, the tube serving to generate alternating current synchronous with the original current and driving the second apparatus. As described, the receiving drum 23 is to be driven in svnchronism with the transmitting drum 4. A generator 24 produces low frequency alternating current driving a motor 26 geared to the drum 4, and also supplies current which divides between the real and artificial lines 15, 17, 18. At the receiving station this current passes through the primary 19 of a transformer, the secondary of which is in the grid circuit of a three-electrode amplifier 32, the amplified current in the plate circuit serving, through a transformer, to drive motor 33 geared to drum 23.
