Abstract

168,265. Richard, L. F., Small, R. G. D., and Mining Economies, Ltd. Oct. 15, 1920. Rollers.-Comprises a combination of parts forming a construction of roller for guiding haulage ropes in mines or for conveyer apparatus. A barrel or body is fitted with flanged ends formed with two internal recesses, one of which carries one ball-race while the other receives the end plate 6, which carries the complementary ball-race. The outer surfaces of the end plates are flush with the end flanges of the roller at the meeting edges and are provided with long bosses secured to the central shaft 8 by pins 9. The bcsses are formed with one or more flat or hollowed surfaces to take a firm bearing on the supports. Felt washers 13 may be fitted between the end plates and the roller body to preclude the entry of dust.
