Abstract
166,805. Jackson, H. June 24, 1920. Arc lamps.-A projection lamp has a pillar B guiding two arms C, C' which carry the carbons and are connected by toggle links f to a nut F on a screw E. A handle, E<1> serves for rotating the screw and also for tilting and rotating the pillar tu adjust the arc horizontally and vertically. For this purpose, the pillar may be pivoted to a pedestal A<2> capable of rotation under a cover A<1> on the base A. The screw E has a reduced end secured by a collar e<1> in a hole in the pillar B. To provide for alignment, the upper carbon-holder C may be telescopic and adjusted by a screw H, and the lower holder may be hinged at k<1> and provided with lateral arms connected by a screw n and link O. The end of each carbon-holder arm may be insulated and provided with a rigid conductor p<2> or p<3> extending backwards so that the flexible conductors p are not exposed to the heat of the arc.
