Abstract

The copying machine contains a cover (2) which is pulled onto the glass plate (1) by an electromagnet or permanent magnet (154), in order to press the original against the glass plate. In order to reduce the force which is required when raising the cover after copying, an additional electromagnet (152) is provided which is automatically excited after each copying cycle and whose polarity is directed opposite to the polarity of the first mentioned electromagnet or permanent magnet. <IMAGE>
